I also plan have a jop to help pay for a car and the incerance on the car. My prents said that they will help so i don't have to worry too much about it but I feel that I should help with it even though they said I don't have to.

This summeris going to be a good one and i just can't wait. There is only 6 ore days left till I get out of hig school.

I don't really have much to say so I'll make it sort and to the point. This year is almost over and like most seniors I'm starting to get lazy. I am so glad that the year is almost over though. I just hope that my lazyness will not make me have any problems with being able to graduate. That is really all that I am thinking about right now.

My Weekend

This weekend I worked a lot, maybe too much. Saturday I woke up at 7 o’clock and went over to a church member’s house to do some yard work. There was about 5 other people that came and help. We had to pull weeds and mulch their flower beds as well as weed their volleyball court and the beach they have by their lake. I don’t like to weed that much so it felt like it was going to take all day. At noon we stopped and ate lunch then went home. When I got home I took a break then went and rode my bike for a while. Afterwards, I helped my neighbor across the street put in some stone that goes around garden areas and laid some more mulch. By 6 o’clock I went to go take a shower then my family and I went to Pancharos (not sure how to spell it) to have dinner. When finished we went home and did nothing for the rest of the night. Sunday I got up at around 9 o’clock to go to church and didn’t get back till 1 o’clock because I had to stay up there to sell tickets for a spaghetti dinner that my youth group is doing. I went fishing for a little while after I got home then rode my bike until I got bored of that. My brother saw a snake in the backyard through his window in his room. SO we went out back to try to catch it but we failed. At 5 o’clock my brother, his friend and I left to go fill up my mother’s van with gas then go to church for youth group. After that went home and did nothing for the rest of the night.

Study Skills

The best way to improve my study skills is to try to relate to the students more. Once I can relate to them and understand what is going on in the first place. Then I can help them efficiently enough for them do what they need to and pass the class or classes.

How Mission Statement & Link Crew Leader Guidelines Can Help

With having the mission statement and the link crew leader guidelines, this program will work a lot more efficiently. There will not be a problem with people that don't want to be here an help because they were informed about what link crew is all about.

Having the guidelines will be very beneficial because no one can say that they didn't know what the rules are. So it someone does something wrong it can be proven that it should have never happened because the guidelines should have been read.

Reflection

Link Crew has helped me with the most important trait a person needs, responsibility. It has helped me to sort out my priorities better. That was my main problem with my responsibility. Know what task should come first is very important when it come to helping others.

Mentoring others is helping me to understand how the people that helped me, when I was struggling, felt. It also helps me know how the teachers feel all those times they get students that just don't want to do anything.

Everything that has to do with link crew is very rewarding. Knowing that you have or might make a difference in some one's life is nice. Also being able to help them with what ever they need. There is so much to get out of link crew and I'm glad I took the class, and to have Mrs. Bedard as the teacher is great.

Responsibility

Responsibility is a really important trait to have and if you don't you can have real troubles. This day and age there are many teens that are not responsible in any way. When they are asked to have thing done they either wait till the last moment of they just don't do it. This makes it hard for someone to ask then to do something again because they know the person might not do it.

When I am asked to have something done by anyone i get it done as fast as possible so the person does not have to wait long. There also might be some benefit for helping others and getting it done early. I don't know what they might be but people are know to reword their good help.

Many people that are not good with responsibility have problems in the future with finding good work because they don't have a history of doing what they are asked to do. All you have to do to get your responsibility skills up is not to put thing aside that you were asked to take care of.

What I'm Thinking.

Let me see... To tell the truth I'm not thinking about much right know but I'll think of something. Okay, I'll tell you about my week so far. During the weekend I was out in Ocala National Forest back packing. I hiked a total of 15 miles with a 50 to 60 pound pack on my back. For future reference I think I need to pack lighter.

When I got home I was exhausted and thankfully my brother got sick, not that it is a good think to be sick. If he was not though I would have had to go to school on Monday.

Not to mention that i had a project to do in my politics and government class that was due Tuesday night. So I ended up working all day on that. Tuesday I had to go to school even though my brother was still sick.

Though out the day I was wondering how my students did on their test. I hope they did very well so they don't have to have intensive classes like I had in 10th grade because I failed the reading FCAT in 9th grade. I was not to happy. That is what I am now thinking about.

Also that I"M SO FREAKING HUNGRY RIGHT NOW!!!

Mentoring Experiences

So far the kids that I have helped have not been to happy about it but they did do the work with my help. Not sure if they will do the other work they have to do but it is a start.

I hope that the more I work with them the more they will start to help themselves and do the work. That is what I am shooting to achieve for these kids.

Helping Freshmen In Many Ways

I like to help out the freshmen no matter what they do or say. Many kids don't know why they should be here and think that high school is not important at all. Unfortunately many just don't care about anything. That is what we are here for to get them to learn how important high school is for their future.

Every now and then you get the ones that don't like to listen or don't like help. They are the ones that make our job harder because they fight you all the way and don't help you with being nice. Thankfully there are some that actually listen to you and benefit from your help. When you get those freshmen you feel very good because you know that you have just changed some one's life.

The most important advice you can give to a student that does not think high school is important, is to tell them the truth about the real world. Ask them what will the do if they decided t o drop out of school or tell them what jobs might be there for them when they drop out. Every little thing can help when it comes to helping the freshmen.

How I can help 9th graders & Self Esteem.

The best way I can help 9th graders with there self esteem is to be positive. I got to make sure that I do not do anything or say anything that might hurt them or do something to their self esteem. They are already probably more nervous about getting help than I am with helping them just because that fact that they don't what others to know that they need help. Also that the fact that the person helping them is an older student.

What I should do that can help the 9th graders is to be a friend to them first. That is the most important thing that I can do for them. After I become their friend I can help them help sort though what they need help with. Then I'll help them in what ever they need, whether it is with school work or with something else.

I hope that I can help them with what they need. I don't want to disappoint them at all. I fell that I will do fine though, so it is okay.

My steps to improve ME !!

Out of the 12 steps there are some steps that I need to work on so I can improve myself. I have a problem with bringing up past experiences when I have to do something new. I say something like, "last time I tried something new I ended up hurting someone or breaking something so should try this." I make so many excuses for trying something new that it is getting old and I need to change.

Another problem I have is with telling myself I'm stupid it I do something wrong. I never tell myself that it will be okay, everyone makes mistakes. My philosophy is that I should never make a mistake and I need to be perfect. The problem with that is that no one in the world is or every will be perfect. I need to start telling myself that when I do something wrong.

I use to be very good with this step but as I got older I started to slack a little. I use to go to bed right when I got tired but now I force myself to stay awake to whach another show or just to play games. I need to get back into my old habbit again and go to bed when i'm tired.

Now that I know exaclly what I need to work on I can get it taken care of and improve myself.

The way I'll pay attention to the freshmen.

I give attention to many people I know and most of the time they need some help with something. There will always be obstacles to get around when you hep someone. Nothing is too hard to get around though, at least that is my opinion. Everyone needs attention some point in time, yes, I am saying that I even need attention with some things.

When I start giving my attention to the freshmen that need it I admit that I will probably have some obstacles to take care of. I won't however let that get in the way of helping that person. The way that I will give them the attention they need is to be there for them. I'll try to become their friend and help them with what they need help with.

Some of the kids might fight back and say that they do not need help with anything or that they just don't feel like doing the work at all. When one of them says that they don't need any help I'll tell them my story about my reading problem. I'll tell them that if I didn't ask for help I would be here right now and that I would not have gotten straight As. I would probably not even be graduating this year.

For the ones that just don't want to do their work I'll start with asking them "what they are going t do then?" If they don't respond them I'll tell them what they will be able to do with no high school diploma. Hopefully that will scare them enough to let me help them and they will start doing their work.

To tell the truth I can't wait till I start giving my attention to the freshmen. I like to help people because I use to be someone in their shoes and I was the one getting the attention.

Thing I have to share

There are a few things that I can share with others and help them with. I always share what I know about things that others might not know about. I like to have fun and I share that with others too. There are no real talents I have so I can't share anything like that. I do share what ever I can and if someone needs something I don't know or can't help with I will try to find someone that can does know or can help.

When I help someone that really needs it I feel like I did something useful with what I know or what I can do. I always will try to help but, unfortunately I don't know everything so I can't always help. I am always encouraging who ever needs to be encouraged to do something they might not want to do but have to do. I can talk from experience in most of those instances. There are many thing I have not wanted to do but have done anyways. This is all why I decided to take this class so I can help more than just the people I know personally.

When opportunity knocks.

When opportunity knocks, don't complain about the noise.

When opportunity knocks I usually go for it. Most of the time it is in my benefit, so why let it go? There are the times that I get one of the opportunities that just don't seem very interesting to me. On the contrary I usually go for them anyways. There is always something I can do to get closer to my goals and the opportunities might be the best way.

First

This is my second block class. It seems to sound like it is going to be interesting. Hopefully it is.
